PIZZA RECIPE - QUICK, EASY, HIGH PROTEIN!

Filed Under (diet tips) by Viv;=) on 26-09-2008

Just a quickie little recipe:

-1/2 of a Thomas’ WHOLE WHEAT english muffin, toasted very well
-1 tblspoon of any low-sugar spagetti or pizza sauce
-1 to 2 small frozen turkey meatballs
-approx 1 tblspoon of fat free or part-skim mozzarella cheese

-Toast the english muffin REALLY well, then layer the sauce on top. Place the frozen meatballs in the microwave for 1 minute, then slice thinly and layer on top of the sauce. (I used about 1.5 meatballs) Then top with cheese and melt in the oven or toaster oven.

YUM!

Note: I am on the soft stage and did really well with this - no problems at all!

Sounds pretty tasty; I will try it. On another note, and I hate to digress, but you are storybook-beautiful, and that was why I watched the vid.

Thanks for the recipe! I’m a college student, not really trying to lose weight (but could stand to lose a few lol), and definitely wanted pizza and this recipe helped alot (since i didnt want to order pizza..too expensive). i’m a vegetarian so instead of using frozen turkey meatballs i found some vegetarian pepporoni-like things and it was great. thanks :)

hi taun - just checkin’ in on all the divas via the bloggedy-blogs…
re: the pizza recipe thang: michelle used to make pita pizzas when she was on weight watchers…pretty similar to your engie muff recipe, but she would split a whole wheat pita round in half and then use one round as the crust…she loaded it up with veggies too - to “up” the fiber factor - mushrooms and scallions and such….but at this point i would avoid the veggies for you cuz the fiber and acidity might upset your tummy!

Sounds great! I love english muffins with peanut butter and sugar-free honey, too! Another great item to try are the mini square bagels. I can’t eat even a whole half, but they are wonderful!

Well, after liquids I went to soft foods - so deli meat, chili, cottage cheese (mmm) and so forth. Ricotta cheese is on my list too, so maybe I’ll try your warm cheese & sauce idea with that! Thanks for the tip!
